Why Does Morocco Speak Many Languages?

Morocco speaks many languages due to its rich history of Arabization, indigenous Amazigh roots, French and Spanish colonial legacies, and modern global influences like tourism and education. Official languages are Modern Standard Arabic and Standard Moroccan Amazigh, while Moroccan Arabic (Darija) serves as the everyday lingua franca for most people. French is widely used in business, education, and government (spoken by about 33-57% literacy rate), Spanish in northern and southern regions from historical ties, and English is growing among younger generations.
